PASSION FOR GOD
Scripture References: Mark 12:28-30; Revelation 2:1-7; 3:14-21
Exposition:
In the closet life, passion for what we stand for really matters. The creative force behind all great art, all great drama, all great music, all great architecture, all great writing is passion. Nothing great is ever accomplished in life without passion. Nothing great is ever sustained in life without passion. Passion is what energizes life. Passion makes the impossible possible. Passion gives you a reason to get up in the morning and go, “I’m going to do something with my life today.” Without passion life becomes boring. It becomes monotonous. It becomes routine. It becomes dull. God created you with the emotions to have passion in your life and He wants you to live a passionate life.
Passion is what mobilizes armies into action. Passion is what causes explorers to boldly go where no man’s gone before. Passion is what causes scientists to spend late night hours trying to find the cure to a dreaded disease. Passion is what takes a good athlete and turns him or her into a great athlete where they’re breaking records. You’ve got to have passion in your life. A passion is a strong liking or love, a burning desire for somebody. Without passion, you cannot serve God diligently. Passion for God brings intimacy with God. When God becomes your friend, you possess all things. God tells you everything
in His heart. Passion is the unwritten code of a message; it is evident in our actions.
How passionate are you about God? We cannot be casual about God in any regards as youth. The youths cannot be found in the evening services of the church anymore. Is Christ your priority? Talk means little unless we see our passion at work. It is seen with the zeal and enthusiasm for the work of God. Let’s all youths arise and get along! Passion for God is the desire of your soul for God and the things of God. It is the hunger of your spirit to please God, the thirst of the inner man for the Almighty, the craving of your personality for God. The men of old were so passionate about God? What about us?
Prayer Guide: Let go of all and allow the Lord to fuel your passion for Him once more.
MEMORY VERSE FOR THIS WEEK:
Matthew 6:4 (AMP) – “So that your charitable acts will be done in secret; and your Father who sees [what is done] in secret will reward you.”
