SCRIPTURE READING: Hebrews 13:5, Proverbs 11:1
EXPOSITION:
One great lesson for us as youth in a dispensation like ours is the subject of Contentment. An individual/a person who is not satisfied with whatever benefits and grace he/she enjoys from the Lord is a possible candidate of missing providential opportunities.
It is keen to know that contentment is the balance key of loving God and working for money without downplaying the Lord’s principles on the ultimate bigger plan He has to unfold in our lives (Proverbs 11:1).
For the writer in Hebrews 13:5 therefore:
- We are to keep our lives from the love of money. Am I a victim of this?
- Be content with what you have. Am I content in life?
- For he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Where is my hope placed – on God or on money?
Reflecting on this balance as an individual, where then do you fit?
MEDITATION:
Seeking for divine enablement and strength to work for money in supporting the kingdom is the right balance for a fruitful life.
