“CONSECRATED TO THE LORD”

Exodus 30:18-21; Romans 12:1-2

EXPOSITION:

One of the main responsibilities of a priest is to present himself wholly unto the Lord. This means that he is to consecrate his entire being unto the Lord.

In the Old Testament Tabernacle worship, the priests were to wash their hands and feet from the water in the laver before they could go to the Holy place to offer their daily rituals. Refusing to consecrate themselves will lead to death.

Apostle Paul admonished us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God. Consecrating ourselves to the Lord is our spiritual act of worship. Presenting our whole being as a sacrifice unto God is very important since without it all our sacrifices, gifts, prayers, and other rituals will not please Him. God wants our consecration first before He would accept our offering.

1 Peter 2:9 says: “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

All New Testament believers are priests. As priests of the Lord, it is our obligation to be consecrated to Him always.

PRAYER: Pray as led by the Holy Spirit.

MEMORY VERSE FOR THE WEEK Hebrews 4:15 (NIV) – “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are — yet was without sin.” #PossessingtheNations
