The Pentecost Hospital, a mission hospital established by The Church of Pentecost, received a generous donation of medical items from the ministers’ wives of the Church in the Greater-Accra Region on Thursday, January 28, 2024.
The donation included items such as six wheelchairs, three BP apparatus (one in a box), one box of medical oxygen regulators, five stethoscopes, five infra-red thermometers, four digital BP apparatus, ten boxes of diapers, pillows, T-rolls, hand sanitisers, bed sheets, bleach paragon, liquid soaps, and bed mats.
The items were presented to the hospital by Mrs Mary Nyamekye, the wife of the Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, during a brief presentation ceremony at the hospital premises. They were received by Apostle Ms Appiah, the Madina Area Head of the church, who also doubles as the board chair of the hospital.
Mrs Juliana Korkor Obuobi, the wife of the General Secretary of the Church, on behalf of the ministers’ wives, expressed their gratitude to the Pentecost Hospital for being a blessing to their husbands and families.
She said that the hospital had been of great help to them in times of need and had provided them with excellent health care.
She said that the donation was their way of showing appreciation and contributing to the hospital’s vision of becoming one of the most outstanding hospitals in the country.
In response, Apostle Dr. Koranteng, the Director of the hospital, thanked the women for their kind gesture and said that the hospital was grateful for their support.
He said that the hospital was committed to revealing the healing power and love of Jesus Christ to everyone, regardless of their status or background.
He also gave an overview of the hospital’s achievements and challenges. He said that the hospital had nine specialists, 28 medical officers, and over 200 nurses, making it one of the biggest mission hospitals in Accra.
Other notable personalities present at the ceremony were Mrs. Deborah Agyeman Bekoe, the wife of the International Missions Director of the church; Mrs Philomina Mireku, the Women’s Ministry Director; Mrs. Elizabeth Asante, the wife of the Kaneshie Area Head and the Institutional Management Team (IMT) of the hospital.
