Takoradi Area Disinfects Church Buildings
The Takoradi Area of The Church of Pentecost has commenced a disinfection exercise in all church buildings in the Area.
The Takoradi Area Head, Apostle Joseph Assabil in an interview with PENTECOST NEWS explained that the exercise, which started on Monday, May 4, 2020, is in line with the President’s directives on measures outlined to contain and prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.
The Takoradi Area Head is hopeful that the disinfection exercise, which mainly seeks to halt the spread of the virus, would also ensure a strict hygienic environment for the churches.
Apostle Assabil also took the opportunity to entreat church members to periodically practise personal hygiene, frequent washing of their hands under running water, compulsory wearing of face mask, use of hand sanitisers frequently and also minimise human contacts to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 disease.
According to him, it was prudent for all to adhere to the precautionary measures outlined by health professionals in order to win the fight against the deadly virus. He, therefore, stressed that physical and social distancing must be observed at all times to eliminate the virus.
The 23 districts that will benefit from the exercise include Takoradi, New Takoradi, New Site, Tanokrom, PIWC, Effiakuma, Kwesimintsim, Airforce, Kwesimintsim Ridge, Anaji Estate, Adientam, Kansaworodo, Assakae, Apramdo, Apowa and Beahu.
The rest are Ewusiejoe, Aboadi, Mpohor, Adum Banso Agona Ahanta, Dixcove, Ellobankata and PENSA. The Takoradi Area Office will also be disinfected as part of the exercise.
The exercise, which is being funded by the Takoradi Area, is being carried out in strict compliance with the World Health Organisation (WHO) procedures and protocols.
The Takoradi Area Secretary, Pastor Charles Arthur, who has been tasked with overseeing the disinfection exercise, has expressed utmost satisfaction at the progress of work.
