The Kaneshie Area Children’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has donated some items to the Senior Correctional Centre of Ghana Prison Service, Borstal Home at Nsawam to aid their operations and extend love to inmates of the centre.
The donated items worth GH¢ 11,000 included 100 pieces of bedsheets, 114 pairs of bathroom slippers, six bags of rice, a bag of sugar, one bag of gari, 50 tubers of yams, 15 pieces of mob & their buckets, ten boxes of bathing soap, 13 gallons of Liquid Soap, and other assorted items.
The items were handed over to officials of the Senior Correctional Centre by the Kaneshie Area Head, Apostle Mike Etrue, assisted by the Area Children’s Leader, Pastor Emmanuel Kwasi Appiah at a short presentation ceremony on Saturday, December 21, 2019.
Also present were the Assistant Leader, Elder Emmanuel Kissiedu, and some District Children Workers and children in the Area.
Speaking at the short ceremony, Apostle Mike Etrue said that The Church of Pentecost through her vision for the next five years dubbed “Vision 2023,” is dedicated to impacting society with Kingdom principles and values and that the donation is in line with Christ’s principle of giving to the poor and needy in society.
Pastor Appiah, in turn, reiterated that the donation underpins the church’s commitment to contributing her quota to national peace, development and caring for the needy and the helpless. He said the ministry was confident that the items would go a long way to aid the centre.
Receiving the items on behalf of the centre, the Principal Officer-in-charge, ASP Esther Achiaw commended the church for the support and urged other faith-based organisations to emulate this noble gesture.
