Hundreds Benefit From Free NHIS Registration Exercise At MWC’20
The Church of Pentecost, in collaboration with the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), is organizing a free health insurance registration exercise for participants of the 7th Ministers and Wives’ Conference (MWC’20) at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh.
The exercise, which is being jointly undertaken by personnel from Pentecost Hospital and the NHIA District offices in Apam, Agona Swedru and Winneba, is part of efforts by the church to get all ministers, their wives and children enrolled onto the insurance scheme.
Enrolment onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and possession of the NHIS card enables individuals to get treatment and medicines for common diseases such as Malaria, Diarrhoea, Upper respiratory tract infection, Skin Diseases, Hypertension, Diabetes and Asthma.
The Coordinator for the NHIS registration, Mr Ebenezer Kennedy Eduah (Head of Claims & Billing, Pentecost Hospital, Madina), said the exercise is being patronized very well with the majority of the participants taking the opportunity to renew their expired NHIS cards.
“The Church is advocating that every minister of the church should be enrolled onto the NHIS as his first health insurance service provider to strengthen the scheme and also give ministers and their families access to quality healthcare at an affordable cost,” he added.
Aside from the NHIS registration, the Pentecost Hospital is providing free healthcare services for participants of the conference.
