Walewale Area Holds Five Day Holistic Ministers And Wives Retreat
A 5-day holistic retreat for all ministers and their wives in the Walewale Area of The Church of Pentecost has been held in Walewale in the Northern Region.
The event, which was chaired by the Area Head, Evangelist Francis Yaw Adu, took place from September 18 to 22, 2018.
The multifaceted retreat started with an orientation session for all newly transferred ministers and their wives to the Area with the sole objective of adequately equipping them for effective ministry in the northern part of the country. September 19, 2018 saw the arrival of all other ministers and their wives in the Area.
Speaking on the topic, “When the Spirit Takes Over” with his anchor text from 2 Chronicles 5:1-14; 7:1-6, the Area Head, Evangelist Francis Adu, noted that the ultimate objective for work of ministry is to take members to the presence of God. He added that when the Holy Spirit takes over the presence of God the church becomes dynamic and the minister’s work becomes fruitful.
The retreat did not only include word ministration and prayer sessions, there were also practical ministry (pastoralia) and issues of concern sessions. There were also presentations on district statistical report writing and estates issues in the Area.
There was a marriage seminar session which produced a working document on what ministers and wives expect from each other in marriage and ministry.
The retreat ended successfully on September 22, 2018, with a 10-kilometer health walk and fitness session.
