Truth Is The Antidote To Falsehood – Apostle Osei Ofosu Asserts

The Abuakwa Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Kwasi Osei Ofosu, has said that wherever falsehood exists, truth is the only antidote that can deal with it.

According to him, “falsehood is scattered in several forms, however when a single truth appears it expels all falsehood.”

He said this at the opening session of this year’s Assin Foso Area Apostolisation at the Foso Habitat Assembly on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.

Speaking on the theme, “Remaining in Christ and His Basic Message will Enable Us to Lead His Flock in Truth” (1 John 2:24, 25), he indicated that John the Apostle, who was very old and experienced, wrote the book to address the false teachings which were going on in the church at the time.

He said Apostle John admonished matured believers and church leaders not to keep silent and have their hands folded whilst falsehood is being peddled to deceive the masses of believers.

Apostle Osei Ofosu bemoaned the practice where matured leaders and officers of the church leave very sensitive aspects of church activities such as Bible studies and new convert classes to people who may be new to the church to handle.

He challenged church leaders to rise to the task, saying, “What is happening is an indication that people are trying to cover up the truth, so the church requires people who will uncover the truth or open up the truth.”

Touching on how to guard against false teachings in the church, he mentioned that church leaders must know the truth through reading, studying and meditating on the word of God so that they can differentiate between the truth and falsehood.

He also encouraged church leaders to be cognizant of the practices of false teachers and draw the attention of the members to false teachings which are being peddled around.

He finally admonished church leaders to make adequate time to preach and teach the truth with adequate prayers.

Apostle Dr. Stephen Kofi Baidoo (Retired), one of the speakers, added that, “every church leader is comparable to a medical practitioner who diagnoses diseases and finds antidote to deal with them.”

He admonished church leaders that their teachings can make a greater impact when they live unquestionable life.

Earlier in his opening address, the Area Head, Apostle Sylvester Arhin, called on the participants to take the various sessions seriously so that they could also impact others.
