There Is No Name As Exalted As The Name Of Jesus – IMD Asserts

The International Missions Director (IMD) of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Gyesi-Addo, has asserted that the name ‘Jesus’ was predestined ahead of His birth by the Virgin Mary.

He indicated that Jesus is both Lord and Saviour and that His name is exalted higher than any other name in heaven, on earth and beneath the earth (Philippians 2:9).

Apostle Gyesi-Addo said this in a sermon on Friday, December 21, 2018, at the Tema Community 4 District as part of this year’s Christmas Convention on the topic, “Christ the Saviour is Born, Go Tell the World” taken from Luke 1:30-33; 2:11, which is the theme for the convention.

He explained that Jesus was born with His titles as revealed in Luke 2:11, thus He is the Messiah and the Lord. “There is power in the name of Jesus. The name is an exclusive name because He alone is able to save His people from their sins,” he stressed.

Touching on the encounter between Jesus and Zacchaeus at the latter’s house, he said Jesus made a profound statement that, “Today salvation has come to this house,” meaning Jesus Himself is the epitome of salvation, which had come to the house of the chief tax collector.

“Jesus is salvation; He is life. He is the way, the truth and the life. He is, therefore, the only accredited saviour sent by God to save humanity from their sin,” he said.

Apostle Emmanuel Gyesi-Addo said that the salvation package offered by Christ include healing, forgiveness of sin, restoration and transformed life, as well as the power to overcome sin and the devil.

The IMD asked Christians to rejoice because the One they have put their trust in is powerful to save and give life.

Present at the service was the wife of the IMD, Mrs Elizabeth Gyesi-Addo. Others were the Community 4 District Minister, Pastor Joseph Danzerl, the Tema Area Women’s Ministry Leader, Deaconess Charity Kuwornu, among others.
