The New Covenant Is Founded On Better Promises – Apostle David Tekper Reveals

The Cape Coast Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle David Tettey Tekper, has affirmed that the New Covenant which has Jesus Christ as its mediator, provides better promises than the old.

Apostle Tekper, a Member of the Executive Council, said this in a sermon during the 2018 Easter Convention in the Abura Dunkwa Zone on Wednesday, March 28.

Speaking under the theme, “Jesus Christ, the Mediator of the New Covenant” based on Hebrews 9:15; 8:6-8, Apostle Tekper established that Jesus Christ has a higher and an excellent ministry founded on better promises superior to that of the High Priest in the Old Testament.

He explained that God’s initial covenant with Israel, sealed with the blood of lambs and bulls was faulty and failed to deal with what he termed “the problem of sin and disobedience.” This, he said, necessitated the establishment of a new covenant with Jesus Christ as its mediator; one that dealt with sin once and for all.

“Jesus came to this world sinless and lived a sinless life which enabled Him to deal with sin once and for all. He met the justice of God through His sinless life.

“Jesus through His mediatory role has made believers children of God and He has become their eternal High Priest who intercedes daily on their behalf giving them access to the very presence of God,” he stressed.

He revealed that God has an oath with His people and is bounded by it to bring every promise to pass.

According to him, what makes the new covenant better is the blood of Christ that sealed it, adding that the blood of Christ is without blemish and of greater value than that of lambs, bulls and goats.

Apostle David Tekper also indicated that God’s covenant with believers is in full force following the death of Jesus Christ.

He concluded that the covenant promises are everlasting, because its mediator is alive and seated by the right hand of God interceding for its beneficiaries.
