Tema Area Embraces Vision 2023
The Tema Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Matthew Larbi Wettey, has challenged officers of the Church in the Area to serve God and make the needed impact in order to be counted as worthy servants of the church.
According to him, the influence of leadership must be felt once a leader follow and adopt strategies that have been tried, tested and proven to merit its usage.
Interacting with pastors and officers in the Tema, Prampram, Sege and Ada zones which took place from 15th-19th January, 2019, as part of the engagement to create awareness on the Church’s Vision 2023, Apostle Wettey encouraged the officers to appreciate the vision, study and implement it in their various district and assemblies for the achievement of the overall target which is to “possess the nations.”
He explained that God has given the Church a new direction to possess the nations by becoming agents of transformation wherever they find themselves, and for that matter as leaders, they are required to apply the objectives of the vision to build the church and achieve results.
Reading from Acts 13:36 and Ephesians 4:12, the Area Head said that David promoted the Kingdom of God by killing his opponents but in the New Testament era, believers are to serve and build the Church of God through the Lord Jesus Christ who admonishes His followers to forgive all sins. “In order to accomplish what David did, officers should also work hard in their time to be remembered by the generation yet unborn,” he added.
Apostle Wettey also took time to clarify various thematic areas under Vision 2023 and encouraged the officers to apply all the recommended actions and objectives. He also placed emphasis on the need for officers to uphold the sound doctrines of the Church while subjecting themselves to all policies that the leadership will bring up for the Church’s governance.
He challenged the officers to do their work diligently so that like Apostle Paul, they can boldly affirm that, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
