Prophet Amaniampong Leaves Teshie-Nungua Area

The Teshie-Nungua Area of The Church of Pentecost has held a send-off service for the outgoing Area Head, Prophet James Osei Amaniampong and his family.

The well attended farewell service which was officiated by the Rector of the Pentecost University College (PUC), Apostle Dr Daniel Okyere Walker, took place at the Fred Stephen Safo Memorial Temple, Nungua, on Sunday September 9, 2018.

It was attended by several ministers of the Church, including Apostle Isaac Nii Kotei Djani (Area Head of Tamale and Executive Council Member), the wife of the Chairman of the Church, Mrs. Mary Kwartemaa Nyamekye; the wife of the former Chairman, Mrs. Grace Adwapa Opoku Onyinah, traditional authorities of the area, among others.

In a sermon, Apostle Daniel Walker spoke on the topic, “Rewards,” and asked Christians to work hard to receive reward for their labour. “Yes, there is a reward for our labour in the Lord, no matter how long it takes” he affirmed.

Reading from 1 Corinthians 3: 10-15, Colossians 3: 23-24, 2 Corinthians 5:10, Apostle Walker admonished Christians to work faithfully in the Lord since at the end of the Christian race each one will be judged according to their works, saying, “Everything we see around us testify of the imminent second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

According to Apostle Walker mentioned some of the people who received rewards for their service in the Bible as the Levites (Numbers 18:31), dream interpreters (Daniel 2:6), righteous people (2 Samuel 22:1), carriers of good news (2 Samuel 18:22), and those who keep and obey the commandments of God (Proverbs 13:13).

“Though there are challenges in the Christian life, hold on to the faith in the Lord, be committed, have confidence, be selfless and dedicated to the things of God, and have the spirit of endurance to finish the race,” he admonished, adding, “He who overcomes challenges in this race will receive the crown of righteousness.”

Apostle Walker encouraged Christians not to faint in doing the work of the Lord since there are various rewards awaiting them at the end of the age. These rewards include the crown of righteousness, crown of life, the crown of glory, the crown of rejoicing, overcomers crown and incorruptible crown. “The Lord is coming very quickly so hold on firmly to that which you have so that no one takes your crown from you.”

He noted that there are a lot of distractions in this race, therefore Christians should not give up, be watchful, vigilant and keep on doing good, adding,” Though your reward will not come when  you expect it, it will surely come.”

In a testimony on behalf of the Area Presbytery, Elder Kwaku Antwi Boasiako, an Area Executive Committee Member, said Prophet Amaniampong worked with tenacity, boldness, courage and was consistently focused on his task. “Prophet Amaniampong was upfront and straight to the point, and very hardworking,” he said.

The Resident Minister of the D. K. Arnan Worship Centre, Pastor Nicholas Darko, who also doubles as the Finance and Administration Director (FAD) at the Headquarters, on behalf of the Area ministers described Prophet Amaniampong as a “trainer, mentor and the pastors’ pastor.”

The Women’s Ministry, led by Mrs. Cynthia Adelaide Araba Siaw Agyepong, described Mrs. Georgina Amaniampong, wife of the outgoing Area Head, as a woman of virtue and vision who supported the Ministry immensely. Other presentations came from Omni Bank and the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM).

In an appreciation, Prophet Amaniampong and wife were grateful to the Chairman of the Church and the Executive Council for their support for the ministry.

They paid glowing tribute to officers and members in the Area who supported their ministry. Notable among them was the Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group, Elder Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, and other personalities.

Prophet Amaniampong also presented plaques to some individuals in the Area in appreciation of their roles in support of his five-year ministry in the Area.
