President Akufo-Addo Makes Changes To His Government

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Thursday made changes in the composition of his government.

A statement issued by the Communications Directorate of the Jubilee House said Mr John Peter Amewu, had been moved from Lands and Natural Resources to the Energy Ministry as the Minister.

Mr Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh, the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, is now in charge of the Lands and Natural Resources Ministry.

Mr Kofi Adda, Sanitation and Water Resources Minister and Madam Cecelia Abena Dapaah, the Aviation Minister, have swapped positions.

The statement said the Information Minister, Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, had been sent to the Inner City and Zongo Development Ministry, whilst Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, a Deputy Information Minister was now the Information Minister designate.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West, Cynthia Morrison, has been appointed the Minister-designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection ministry.

Ghana’s former envoy to Italy, Paulina Tangoba Abayage, is now the Upper East Regional Minister-designate.

Deputy Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Evans Opoku Bobie, has been elevated to become the Regional Minister, with Mr Martin Oti Gyarko, MP for Techiman North, as the Deputy Regional Minister-designate.

Former Inner City and Zongo Development Minister, Boniface Abubakar Saddique, heads to the Office of the Vice President as a Minister of State.

Former Upper West Regional Minister, Rockson Bukari also moves to the Jubilee House as a Minister of State.

Mr Pius Enam Hadzide, a Deputy Sports Minister has changed places with Deputy Information Minister, Mr Perry Curtis Okudzeto.

Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba, who was the Gender, Children and Social Protection Minister, has been designated as Ghana’s Ambassador to Italy.

The statement said the President was hopeful that Parliament would speedily vet the personalities designated as ministers and deputy ministers to enable them assume their respective offices as soon as possible.
