Pastor & Mrs Teye: Celebrating 36 Years In Full-Time Ministry
Stephen Kwaku Teye was born on 16th September, 1954 at Akuse in the Eastern Region of Ghana to Mr. Kwadjo Apenya and Madam Alice Ameyo, both of blessed memory. Stephen is the seventh of ten children.
He had his elementary education at Goaso Local Authority Roman Catholic Primary and Middle School, and completed in 1971. Due to financial constraints, he could not continue his education, he however, studied and wrote the SSSCE and passed in 2003.
Pastor Stephen Teye worked with the Cocoa Services Division of the Ghana Cocoa Marketing Board as a Foreman at Sankore and later at Goaso from 1975 to 1982. He also undertook to poultry farming.
Stephen Teye was born into the Church and attended Sunday School. He was baptized by immersion on 8th October, 1970, by Pastor Solomon Mantey, now of blessed memory. He later became a Sunday School Teacher for the Local Assembly. He progressed to become the District Children’s Movement Leader and later became the Zonal Children’s Movement Leader for Goaso Zone. He was ordained as a Deacon and later as an Elder of the Church. He served as a Presiding Elder. He also served as an Executive Committee Member of the District Witness Movement. He served as the Local Secretary, the District Secretary and District Finance Secretary until he was called into the full-time ministry in 1983.
Pastor Stephen Teye got married to the then Miss Mary Arthur (now Mrs. Mary Teye) on 16th October, 1983.The marriage has been blessed with eight (8) children; six (6) gentlemen; Samuel, Jedidiah, Stephen Junior, Benjamin, Emmanuel and Ebenezer, and two (2) ladies; Deborah and Victoria.
Pastor Stephen Teye accepted the call into full-time ministry of The Church of Pentecost in 1983. His ministerial journey began in the Mpohor District, where he served from 1983 to 1986. His journey continued to Oppon Valley (1986-1991), Dzodze (1991-1996), Agormanya (1996-2002), Moree (2002-2007), Kweikuma (2007-2012), Spintex (2012-2015) and Assin Praso (2015-2019).
By the grace of God, Pastor Stephen and Mrs. Mary Teye will retire from full-time ministry after 36 years of service on Sunday, July 28, 2019.
