Manso District Takes Cocoa Farmers Through Artificial Pollination

The Assin Manso District in Assin Foso Area of The Church of Pentecost has organized a one-week Artificial Cocoa Pollination Seminar for all cocoa farmers in the district.

The exercise, which began on May 29, 2018, was initiated by the District Minister, Pastor Emmanuel Abugre. Mr Samuel Nartey and Mr. Abraham Agoado of Ministry of Agriculture were the trainers invited to supervise the farmers in the process in order to boost their farm yields.

The farmers were taught how to use forceps to artificially carry the pollen grains from the anther of one cocoa plant to the stigma of another.

To the glory of God, all the farmers were able to carry out the artificial pollination in their respective cocoa farms at the end of the training.

In his closing remarks, Emmanuel Abugre gave the farmers this word of advice: “When your farms give out their best yields, remember it is the Lord who caused the rains and the sun to make them flourish. Do not forget to pay your tithes faithfully and also give willingly to support the work of God.”

He was also grateful to the facilitators for honouring their invitation and assisting them in the exercise.
