Look Beyond Churches, Think Nations – Chairman Tells Christians

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has advised Christians to be concerned about the wellbeing of the nations and not just about the growth of churches.

According to him, the Church is not a terminal but a conduit through which God intends to possess the nations.

“God does not think Churches, He thinks nations. As Christians, we must not be satisfied with building strong churches but possessing the nations for Christ,” he said.

He further stated that through the church, God intends to bring the rulers of the world in the heavenly realms under His authority. As a result of this intent, Jesus is not building the Church to be a weakling but to be a strong force in order to contend and subdue the gates of hades and ensure that the manifold wisdom of God is made known to all the nations.

Apostle Eric Nyamekye said this on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at the Tetelestai Assembly Church auditorium when he fellowshipped with ministers and officers in the Suame Area as part of the 2019 Apostolisation retreat. The Chairman was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Mary Nyamekye.

Speaking on the topic: “I Will Build My Church” which is the theme of The Church of Pentecost for 2019, the Chairman emphasized that the Church has a dual purpose.

“Jesus Christ did not call us from the world just so that we would come to Church to worship Him. But He has also sent us back into the world to witness and to serve. So that, through us, the wisdom of the Lord would be made known to the people of the world. However, we seem to have embraced the former and forsaken the latter,” he noted.

Apostle Eric Nyamekye, therefore, charged Christians to be agents of transformation wherever they find themselves by applying Kingdom principles and values to everyday living.

The Suame Area 2019 Apostolisation Retreat, which began on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at the Tetelestai Assembly church auditorium, has Apostle Albert Amoah (Retd.) and Apostle Emmanuel Acquah (Resident Minister, PIWC-Kokomlemle) as the main speakers.

Participating in the event are Apostle Michael Collins Asiedu (Suame Area Head), his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Asiedu, as well as the area pastorate and their spouses.
