Konongo Area Ends Apostolisation

This year’s annual officers’ retreat in the Konongo Area of The Church of Pentecost has ended with great impact.

The programme was held in three zones; Agogo, Konongo and Juaso. This, the Area Head, Apostle Frederick Kweku Andoh, explained was to enhance attendance.

The guest speakers were Apostle Anthony Kingsley Miah (Berekum Area Head) and Prophet Appiah Kubi (Retd).

During the Ministers and their wives’ session, Apostle Miah centered his presentation on practical ministry. He indicated that the ministry is more practical than theory. His teachings were taking from 2 Timothy 3:10-17; 1 Corinthians 4:1-2; 2 Peter 4:10; and 2 Corinthians 5:18-21.

He urged Christian workers to do their best to please the Lord who called them according to His grace, and also do their utmost best to present the flock placed in their care blameless on the day of the Lord’s return. He charged pastors not to underestimate the power of prayer in their ministries.

Apostle Miah also spoke on Holy Ghost baptism, gifts and fruit of the Spirit, Tithes and Offering, during the general session.

Prophet Appiah Kubi, on his part, took the participants through the fruit of the Holy Spirit from Galatians chapter 5:22-23. He said the Holy Spirit has been given to Christians to help build relationship with God, man (other fellow humans) and self.

He asked Christians to love the Lord, serve Him with joy and peace of mind. “This will help build a good relationship with God,” he explained.

“Long suffering, kindness and goodness will help develop good relationship with other humans. And faithfulness, gentleness and self-control will help one to have peace within oneself,” he added.

Prophet Appiah Kubi also took the officers through Marriage and Family life. He further dealt with identifying false prophets and teachers.

He identified about five types of marriages: Accidental marriage (where a man impregnates a woman when they had no initial intension of marrying, but because of the pregnancy they decide to marry), Stolen Marriage (where those involved are co-habiting without knowledge of their parents), Broken or fractured marriage (where the couple involved though married, none care about each other – sometimes one wishes the other is dead so he or she may gain their full freedom), Genuine marriage (in which there is an agreement between the man and the woman with the customary rights duly performed), Ordinance marriage (which is the God accepted kind of marriage since it does not entertain polygamy). He said this was the kind of marriage Jesus talked about in Matthew 19.

“God created man, and through man a family is created. That is God’s order of increase. In this marriage type (Ordinance Marriage), the man is not permitted by Law and by the Church to marry another wife,” he explained.

He ended with an admonition to church leaders to be responsible parents by taking care of their children. According to him, parents are supposed to leave behind an inheritance for their children, quoting 2 Corinthians 12:14.

Apostle Frederick K. Andoh, also gave a presentation on the Bible, One Triune God, Repentance, Regeneration and Sanctification, and the Saviour.
