Kete-Krachi Area Donates Anti-Snake Venom To Two Hospitals

The Kete-Krachi Area of The Church of Pentecost has donated 45 pieces of anti-snake venom (ASV) injections to the Krachi Government and the Evangelical Church of Ghana (ECG) Hospitals in Kete-Krachi and Kpandai respectively.

The donation was part of the Church’s social responsibility to the society.

Presenting the anti-snake venom antigens to the hospitals, the Kete-Krachi Area Head of the Church, Apostle Komi Edina Agbavitoh, said the antigens were a gift received from Velve District branch of The Church of Pentecost in Australia.

“Snake bites are rampant in this area, killing a lot of the people including members of the Church, hence the need for the Church to support these health facilities with anti-snake venom to administer to persons who might be bitten by snakes,” he indicated.

Receiving the antigens on behalf of the ECG Hospital, the Matron in-Charge, Mr. Kofi Asare, revealed that victims of snake bite rarely survives, and that getting the antigens will help saves many lives.

Commending the Church for the kind gesture, Mr. Asare said that the donation was timely as there had been a shortage of antigens at the hospital for some time now.
