Kaneshie Area Holds Lay Leadership School

Lay leaders in the Kaneshie Area of The Church of Pentecost have undergone the annual Lay Leadership School aimed at equipping them for effective leadership.

Participants of the programme are ordained officers and other leaders in the Church who assist the clergy in their administrative and spiritual work in the local assemblies.

The school which began on Monday, August 13, 2018 ended on Friday, August 17. This year’s training session was held at two centres, namely: Accra Academy School for participants in the Kaneshie, Darkuman and Bubuashie zones, and at the Cosmos School for those in the Abeka and Chantan zones.

Participants in the Advanced Level 3 were schooled on the following topics: Creation Care, Mentoring and Coaching the Next Generation, Effective Assimilation Structures and Baptism, Gifts and Fruit of the Holy Spirit.

Participants in the Foundational Level were also schooled on the following topics: The Church of Pentecost in Perspective, The Church of Pentecost administration, Finance in The Church of Pentecost and Pentecostalism and its Distinctiveness.

There was also a class for leaders in the Advanced levels 1 and 2 who were taken through lessons in The Doctrine of Christ, Leadership Integrity, Entrepreneurship and Discipleship in The Church of Pentecost, Building a Healthy and Vibrant Local Church and The Doctrine of God respectively.

A total of 2,329 officers participated in this year’s school. There were also 101 facilitators at both centres.

One unique feature of this year’s school was the use of biometric machines to check attendance, which made it easier for the coordinators to monitor the punctuality of participants.

The Area Head, Apostle Mike Etrue, admonished participants to attach all seriousness to the programme. He stated that the school is designed to equip them to execute their duties well and to shepherd the flock in the church.
