The Josentey Assembly Community Based Church Building (CBCB) in Changbalyiri District of Sawla Area of The Church of Pentecost has been completed and dedicated.
The 120 seating capacity church building was dedicated by the Sawla Area Head, Pastor William Ohemeng-Kwakye, assisted by the District Minister, Probationary Overseer Francis Kofi Gyimah, on Wednesday, 28th February, 2018.
The Josentey Assembly was established in January, 2000 during the period of Pastor Emmanuel K. Adu, the then District Minister of Sawla. The members worshipped under tree until 27th November, 2015, when a CBCB grant was received to construct a permanent church building during the tenure of Pastor Enoch Amoah, the first District Minister of Changbalyiri.
The immediate-past Area Head, Apostle Moses K. Ahiakor, assisted by Pastor Enoch Amoah (the first District Minister of Changbalyiri), cut the sod to commence the construction of the building on December, 2015. The building was constructed at a total cost of GH¢42,770.
Delivering the sermon at the service on the topic, “Be Rooted in Christ” based on Colossians 2:6-7, Pastor William Ohemeng-Kwakye advised Christians to be deeply rooted in Christ in order to withstand any storm in life.
He noted that in as much as trees that have its rood deeply rooted in the ground cannot be pulled down by storm, so should the believer of Christ be. He emphasized that in this church age where many false teachers and prophets are claiming to demonstrate the power of God, Christians should be careful not to forsake the basic teachings of Christ but to remain deeply rooted in His teachings, saying, “The roots of every plants is its life-source and that supplies the nutrients to the other part of the plants.”
“Remaining deeply rooted in Christ keeps the believer safe and assurance in Christ. Hence, Christians are to desire to seek the deep things of God and be confined in them for security in their salvation,” he added.
Present at the ceremony were: Mrs. Comfort Ohemeng-Kwakye, the wife of the Area Head, the Area pastorate and their wives, the Area Deacon, Elder Joseph Puorimah, and the Assembly Member of the community, among others.
In an address, the Assemblyman thanked The Church of Pentecost for building a beautiful church auditorium in the community and bringing Christ to the community for a change in the spiritual life of the people.
He appealed to the leadership of the Church to construct a basic school in the community since there is no school in the area.
