Jesus Christ Is Mighty To Save – Apostle Sylvester Arhin

“God gave man dominion over the inferior creatures – over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over the cattle and everything on the earth.

“God designed to put an honour upon man, that he might bring honour to his Maker. This dominion diminished and lost by the fall; yet God’s providence continues to the children of men. After the fall of man, God promised to send a saviour into the world to die and deliver man from the dominion of sin and Satan.

“All the people in the Old Testament lived in expectancy of the coming of that saviour. God sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to come and accomplish that task of redemption since nobody on earth qualifies to do so.

“The records about Jesus are found in the New Testament. Whilst the Old Testament states that a saviour would come, the New Testament states that the Saviour has come.”

These were the words of Apostle Sylvester Arhin, the Assin Foso Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, when addressing the congregation of Wassa Zone during the just ended Easter Convention at Wassa Ateiku on Saturday, March 31, 2018.

Reading from Romans 6:23, he based his sermon on the theme: “Jesus Christ, Mighty to Save,” and explained that Jesus Christ qualifies to be the Saviour of the world, because He is one hundred percent human and one hundred percent God.

He touched on some of the qualifications that make Jesus Christ the unique Saviour. This includes His virgin birth, His sinless life on earth, His crucifixion and His glorious resurrection.

Apostle Sylvester Arhin stated categorically that apart from Jesus Christ, nobody has the power to deliver man from the power and dominion of sin and Satan.

“Because of God’s love for mankind, He has made provision for the payment of the wages of sin which is death, by sending His Son into the world. Believe in Him for in Him is eternal life,” he said.

Present at the convention included the wife of the Area Head, Mrs. Regina Arhin, and the Pastorate in the zone and their spouses, among others.
