Forifori Camp Prison Auditorium Dedicated

Inmates of the Forifori Camp Prison in the Afram Plains were thrilled to witness the dedication of their church auditorium constructed by The Church of Pentecost, on August 31, 2018.

The church building was completed within six months at the cost of GH¢65,000.00. The facility was dedicated by the Afram Plains Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle William Boakye Agyarko.

Present at the ceremony were Apostle (Chief Supt.) James T. Tetteh (Chaplain General, Ghana Prisons Service), Elder (DDP) Dominic Nicholas Arthur (Forifori Camp Prisons Officer-In-charge), Elder Supt. Paul Adjei Nkansah (Forifori Camp Prison third-in-charge), Mr. Jeffrey K. Ansah (New Patriotic Party’s Regional Secretary and Board Chairman of Afram Community Bank), Pastor Francis Teye Kanor (Afram Plains Area Prisons Committee Chairman), Prisons Officers as well as Ministers and their wives from the Area.

Speaking on the topic, “A prepared place for a prepared people” based on John 14:1-6, Pastor Stephen Mensah (Ekye Amanfrom District Minister) said Jesus Christ after His redemptive work on the cross is gone into heaven to prepare a place for those who believe in Him.

He stressed that during the second coming of Christ, Christians who have faithfully served Him shall be raptured and taken to the place He has prepared for them.

“We must therefore allow the assurance of Christ’s return serve as a source of our optimism. The world has no hope for humanity. Even though Christians who trust in Jesus are presently groaning, there is the assurance that Jesus will surely come and take His people with Him to the place He has gone to prepare for them,” he said.

The Ashanti Regional Commander of Prisons, Deputy Director of Prisons (DDP) Kofi Egyir, said it is the vision of the Prisons Service to complement the government’s effort in the total transformation of inmates.

He therefore expressed appreciation to The Church of Pentecost for putting up a place of worship for the facility. He pleaded with other philanthropic organisations to come to their aid.

Apostle William Boakye Agyarko, on his part, expressed his appreciation to the Executive Council of the Church for funding the project.

Seventeen (17) inmates gave their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ.
