A Community Based Church Building (CBCB) has been constructed at Adakope in the Dedesewirako District of the Koforidua Effiduase Area of The Church of Pentecost.

It was the second of its kind in the district after that of the Narhpanya Assembly was dedicated in 2016.

At a ceremony to dedicate the building on December 14, 2017, the Koforidua Effiduase Area Head, Apostle Daniel Yeboah Nsaful, said it is the policy of the Church to provide conducive places of worship for all assembles, hence the introduction of the CBCB projects.

In a sermon on the topic: “You Are the Temple of God” the Ehiamankyene District Minister, Pastor Paul Thomas Owusu, said every building has its purpose and that the purpose of God’s building is for God’s work.

Quoting from 1 Corinthians 3:9-10, Pastor Owusu said Christians are the temple of God, and as such they must keep themselves pure, saying, “In our time, God does not dwell in physical temples as was the case in times past; He lives in us.”

Pastor Owusu said as co-workers with God, “Christians should work hand-in-hand with their leaders to build God’s church from glory to glory.”

The Adakope Assembly was opened in the early 90’s by then Overseer Moses Aklatey. The first church service was held on August 15, 1995 in the house of the Dademantse, Mr. Abbayeteye, with eight members.

Under the leadership of the then District Minister, Overseer Eugene Tettey Duodo, the church was moved to a classroom and congregants worshipped there till the former Area Head, Apostle Samuel Lord Agyin, secured a granted of GH₵40,000 under the CBCB project in 2017 to start the construction of the building.

The Dedesewirako District Minister, Overseer Kinsford Asomah, thanked the leadership of the Church for setting up the CBCB fund which has benefited his district.

In a speech, the chief of the town, Nana Bosompem, praised the leadership of the Church for the CBCB initiative. He promised to help ensure the sustenance of the church in the community.

The event brought together the Area pastorate and their wives, ministers from other churches, the Assemblyman of the area, Hon. Senanu Asitoakor, among others.
