Change The Negative Perception Of The Health Sector – Chairman Challenges Pentecost Health Professionals

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has challenged all health professionals in The Church of Pentecost to sanitize and change the negative perception of Ghana’s health sector.

In a statement read on his behalf by the General Secretary, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, on Friday, June 7, 2019, at the First Pentecost Health Professionals Conference at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa-Fetteh, the Chairman said that: “The Health Sector is sometimes perceived as corrupt and insensitive to patients and clients. Reports of patient abuse abound in the media and people recount some harrowing experiences they have been through in the hands of some health workers makes one wonder whether there are Christians in their midst. You are on a mission to change that perception.”

Apostle Eric Nyamekye also urged them to view their chosen vocation as a setting for ministry, where they will administer quality and compassionate healthcare to patients and project Christ.

“We, therefore expect that you live and work professionally as Christians,” he said.

He explained that in order for the glory of God to be seen in the society, it is necessary that the values and the principles of the Kingdom of God become pillars on which all of society rest.

These values and principles of the Kingdom, he said, entails teachings about Christ that define the Christian as the light and salt of the world, imbued with Godly attributes such as love, integrity, patience, hard work, honesty and faithfulness.

The Chairman also commended the Health Professionals Network for being the first professional body to initiate the idea of putting themselves together in line with the Church’s vision to possess the nations.

The inaugural ceremony for the Pentecost Professionals Network (PPN) is scheduled to take place at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh on Saturday, June 8, 2019. The PPN would see the mobilization of all professionals in the church into various working groups to drive the “possessing the nations” agenda of the Church in the various fields.
