Chairman Visits Madina District

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, last Sunday, September 30, 2018, paid an unannounced visit to the Madina English Assembly in Accra. He was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Mary Nyamekye, and the Madina Area Head, Apostle Anthony Kwabla Ahalivor.

Introducing the Chairman to the congregation, Apostle Ahalivor said the second coming of Jesus Christ would be just like how the Chairman visited the assembly. He, therefore, urged the members to be prepared at all times for the coming of Christ.

Preaching the sermon on the topic, “Remaining in the Basic Message,” Apostle Nyamekye said that the basic message is not about the elementary teachings of Christ, but it is the core message about Jesus Christ.

He explained that the interest of the devil is not in the person, but the Word of God that is in the possession of the believer. He noted that the devil is therefore bent on taking away the Word from the hearers, because he knows it has power and life.

The Chairman advised the congregants to firmly hold onto the Word because it can be taken away from them.

According to him, God has promised His children eternal life. “Healing, good health, a good husband or wife, and other material things are some of the many benefits one receives as having been saved,” he said.

He stated that Jesus Christ came to die on the cross to remove the burden of sin from humanity. Once a person accepts Jesus Christ into their lives their sin is taken away and they receive eternal life, he said.

“God is a father, and once He forgives us of our sins He replaces that with eternal life. Once our sins have been forgiven He heals all our diseases and those are benefits.

“What happens if God decides not to give us the benefits is that, some of us would have to go to heaven whilst limping but then, when we see Him we shall be like Him,” he stressed.

The Madina Area Head, Apostle A. K. Ahalivor led the church through a period of intensive prayers after the sermon.

Although the visit was unannounced, the Chairman offered to christen and dedicate a child, Daniel Ato Dadzie Graham, the baby of Mr. Louis and Mrs. Sarah Graham.

Present at the service were the Madina District Minister, Pastor Kofi Appianing and Pastor Samuel Awugya of Garu District.
