Avail Yourself For The Lord’s Use – Pastor Awuah Afrifa To Christians
The Dunkwa Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Jones Awuah Afrifa, has advised Christians, particularly church leaders, to be concerned about the advancement of the Kingdom of God and avail themselves for Lord’s use.
According to him, God only uses those who avail themselves to Him to build His Church.
Pastor Afrifa said this on October 3, 2018, at the Dunkwa Central Church during a prayer meeting for all Officers in the Dunkwa Area.
Preaching on the topic: “Let Us Rise and Build,” with Nehemiah 2:18 and Exodus 25:8-9 as Bible references, Pastor Afrifa said that Nehemiah was burdened with the state of Jerusalem and was willing to be used by God to repair the walls and gates of the holy city.
He further stated that Nehemiah could build the walls of Jerusalem because the hand of God was upon him, stressing that “The hand of God signifies the strength of God.”
He also noted that, in building the walls of Jerusalem, Nehemiah endeavoured to follow the exact pattern as instructed by God.
The Dunkwa Area Head, therefore, advised believers, particularly church leaders, to show concern for the Church and avail themselves as vessels which would be used by God to advance His Kingdom.
He also added that, like Nehemiah, they should not work with their own knowledge and expertise but always seek divine grace and the power of the Holy Spirit. He also urged them to work in accordance with the patterns (will) of God by adhering to church policies in order to succeed.
“Be part of those building God’s Kingdom, but build the Church according to God’s pattern. When the Church is built according to the pattern of God, the glory of God is manifested and the power of God is experienced,” he said.
Pastor Afrifa also noted that Nehemiah was a good leader who used teamwork to accomplish his vision. “When believers come together as a team, they can accomplish the vision of God,”
He, therefore, advised church leaders to tap into the gifts and potentials of church members and work together with them as a team. He also advised them to eschew bitterness, envy and disunity since these could hinder teamwork.
Ending his message, Pastor Jones Awuah Afrifa admonished church leaders to hold the teachings of Christ in high esteem and make their respective assemblies (churches) a place of prayer.
Quoting from Acts 2:42, he said that the New Testament Church was aggressive in evangelism, holy and righteous in character and Pentecostal in nature. He, therefore, charged the officers to embark on evangelism outreaches, seek the baptism and infilling of the Holy Spirit, and live righteous lives.
Apart from enhancing fellowship and ensuring spiritual deepening of Church officers, the Dunkwa Area Officers Prayer Meeting gave the new Area Head the opportunity to familiarize himself with the Officers and share his vision with them.
The event had about 1,000 church officers of Dunkwa Area in attendance.
