Asokwa Area Embarks On Free Medical Outreach

As part of the activities outlined for the 2019 Easter convention in the Asokwa Area of The Church of Pentecost, a medical outreach, including house-to-house and street evangelism, was held on Easter Saturday, April 20, 2019, to reach out to the people living in and around the Asokwa, Four-Junction, Solobo and Lobito communities.

Two medical teams were set up at vantage points within the suburbs, made up of 20 Specialist Doctors, Pharmacists, Nurses, Laboratory Technicians and other health personnel, who are all members of the Church. Their task was to provide free medical care, including initial diagnoses, medical and health advice, drug prescription and further referral if need be, to the patrons. The exercise lasted for six hours, thus from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

A Counselling Unit was also attached to the medical teams to provide professional counselling and prayer for the people who received medical attention. The Counselling team also led those who wanted to give their lives to Christ.

In all, 423 indigenes received free medical care, while over 46 souls were won for Christ. Twelve persons also re-dedicated their lives to Christ.

The Community members were so excited and grateful for the kind gesture of the Church. They encouraged the Church to frequently undertake such activity. Some also requested that an eye screening exercise should be included in the next medical outreach by the Church.

The Asokwa Area 2019 Easter Convention successfully came off from 17th to 21st April, 2019 in seven zones namely, Asokwa, Atonsu, Bokro, Jachie, Adiebeba, PIWC Asokwa, and Kotei. This was to ensure effective management and full participation of all members.
