Apostle Tekper Takes Over Achimota Area

The Achimota Area of The Church of Pentecost has organised a special service to welcome their new Area Head, Apostle David Tettey Tekper and family who takes over the administration of the Church in the Area.

The service, which took place on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at the Achimota Central auditorium, was attended by people from all walks of life. It was officiated by Apostle Patrick Kingsley Ennin, Area Head of Ashaiman.

Apostle Tekper (an Executive Council Member of the Church), who was transferred from the Cape Coast Area, replaces Apostle Joseph Kwame Assabil, who now heads the Takoradi Area.

In a sermon on the topic, “Do What You Can To Be Remembered,” Apostle Kingsley Ennin inspired the church to do what they can to serve as a memorial in their Christian faith.

Making reference to Mark 14:1-9, he identified the woman in Bethany who did something spectacular, which was appreciated and acknowledged by Jesus Christ.

He noted that one mystery thing about what the woman did was that the head that she poured the perfume on was the same head that was crowned with the thorns. “Probably you might have started something for the Lord, but for some reasons you have stopped; I encourage you to continue doing it,” he said.

He stated that while people were complaining about the action of the woman, Jesus rebuked them. He indicated that if one does not doubt in doing something for the Lord, the Lord who sees everything in secret will surely reward him/her.

Apostle Ennin said that for one to be remembered in the sight of God, he/she needs to live a righteous life, be filled with the spirit of evangelism, pray towards the work of God, and give to support the work of God.

“Since there is enough of strength do the right thing at the right time and with all your heart, do it with all your might as the woman of Bethany did,” he said, adding, “Jesus Christ laboured for us, therefore it’s our time to work for Him. Whatever we are doing, we should do it for the glory of the Lord and not man, and in times of need the Almighty God will reward us.”

In response, Apostle Tekper and family thanked the Lord for His protection and loving kindness upon their lives. The family appreciated the immediate-past Chairman of the Church, Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah, the current Chairman, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, and the Executive Council for the great work done in the Church.

The service was attended by Apostle Patrick Aseyoro (Odorkor Area Head), among others.
