Apostle Tekper Charges Pastors To Be Effective

The Achimota Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle David Tettey Tekper, has charged ministers of the Church to always aspire to be effective, efficient and excellent in the discharge of their duties.

Speaking at a four-day Residential Prayer Retreat for ministers in the Achimota Area held at the Pentecost Pension House at Gbawe in Accra, Apostle Tekper said achieving the five-year strategic vision of the Church would become easy if all ministers can discharge their duties excellently.

“It is my expectation that you will use your efforts to produce what is required of you so that the results would become outstanding all the time,” he stated, adding that, ministers need to develop their character, since it is one of the paramount requirements for achieving excellence.

Apostle Tekper stated that in order for the Achimota Area to advance, there is the need for the ministers in the Area to avoid stagnation but rather be visionary in nature, be committed to hard work, have faith in God, seek godly counsel and direction, be discipline and proactive in the midst of difficulties.

The retreat, which brought together all 22 ministers in the Area, was held from April 9-12, 2019, under the theme, “Let us go up to the mountain of God (Isaiah 2:3)”

The Director of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM), Apostle Emmanuel Ofei Ankra-Badu, and Apostle Christian Tsekpoe, a Lecturer and Coordinator of the School of Theological Education by Extension (STEE) at Pentecost University College (PUC), were guest speakers for the event.

In his inaugural address, Apostle Tekper explained that the retreat was to allow the ministers to wait on the Lord for renewed strength, and strategize to achieve the goals of the Church’s vision for the next five years, as well as pray towards the 2019 Easter Convention. It was also an avenue for the ministers to intercede for the Church and wait on the Lord for strength and new ideas.

Apostle Tekper stressed on the need for ministers to become agents of transformation in order to possess the nations and help build up the Church of Christ.
