The Day Of The Lord Is Imminent - General Secretary

Date: December 4, 2017

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, has urged all and sundry to prepare for the second coming of Jesus Christ.

He noted that God has set aside a special day when He would come back to judge all humankind for their works on earth.

“The Lord has created a special day, so special that He has named it after Himself, known as “The Day of the Lord”, and on that day, He won’t appear as a savior, an intercessor, nor a counselor, but He will be seated on His throne as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, He will judge all according to what they had done with their lives on earth” he said.

Apostle Kumi-Larbi said this on Thursday, November 30, 2017, during Day 3 of the “Kasoa for Christ Crusade” which was held at the Odupong Kpehe School Park by the Kasoa Area Evangelism Ministry. The event was under the theme: “Jesus Is Lord” based on Philippians 2:10-11 and Acts 2:36.

Speaking on the topic: “The Day Of The Lord” with Zephaniah 1:1-8, Amos 4:14 and Hebrews 2:1-4 among others as Scripture references, the General Secretary warned that both believers and unbelievers have cause to be concerned about The Day of the Lord since there would be no way of escape for anyone.

He advised that all must make conscious efforts to prepare for this day since the Bible reveals how dreadful the day could be for those who would be found wanting. (John 2:1; Isaiah 13:6)

He, therefore, called on all unbelievers to run to Christ in order to be saved and to be spared from the impending danger. He also advised believers to safeguard their salvation so that they would not be found wanting on this day of reckoning.

Apostle Kumi-Larbi observed that all signs in the contemporary world indicate that The Day of the Lord is much closer than ever before, hence the need for everyone to prepare themselves to meet the Lord Jesus Christ.

After the sermon, a total of 52 people surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ, out of which 44 people underwent water baptism. The event also recorded an attendance of about 2,323 people including children.

Among the dignitaries present at the event were: Apostle Samuel Antwi (Kasoa Area Head), Mrs Rose Dansoa Kumi-Larbi (Wife of the General Secretary), and Mrs Mary Antwi (Wife of the Kasoa Area Head). Also present were the area pastorate, their spouses and members from all the districts in the Kasoa Area.

The 5-day crusade, which began on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, ended on Saturday, December 2, 2017.

It was also streamed live on the official Facebook page of The Church of Pentecost (www.facebook.com/thecophq) and on Pent TV Live (http://www.tikilive.com/channel/pent-tv-live).
