The 15th Extraordinary Council Meetings of The Church of Pentecost held in May 2017 endorsed the creation of the Edumfa District in the Cape Coast Area.
The district which was carved out of the Abura Dunkwa District was inaugurated on Friday, August 25, 2017. The occasion, chaired by the Area Head and Executive Council Member, Apostle David Tettey Tekper, was also used to welcome the newly posted District Minister, Pastor John Dautey and his family.
Speaking on the topic, “Stand Firm in the Faith” based on 1 Corinthians 16:13-14, Apostle Tekper charged Christians, especially church leaders to be watchful, stand firm and be strong in the faith.
He emphasized the need for Christians to take charge and be vigilant in their duty, drawing from the fact that the Christian is always on a warfront contending with the enemy of their faith.
He articulated that being watchful will help leaders to safeguard themselves and the church from the evil one who seeks to bring division among God’s people.
“He [the devil] did same to the Corinthian church; being watchful will prevent the speed of false doctrine and mayhem in the church,” he underscored. He further called on believers to be steadfast in the faith, acting like men and being strong and unmovable in all circumstances.
As part of the ceremony, Apostle Tekper laid the foundation stone for the district mission house project.
Meanwhile, a similar ceremony was held on Monday, August 28, 2017 to inaugurate the newly created Ekutuase District, which was carved out from the Abrem Agona District.
The District Minister, Overseer Gideon Atigya and family were welcomed during the service.
Currently, the Cape Coast Area has 28 districts.
