The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, has indicated that the Church has a very bright future with a greater percentage of its total members being youth.
Currently, 71% of The Church of Pentecost membership [2,367,253] in Ghana is made up of children and youth (up to 35 years).
This, the General Secretary said, calls for a deliberate effort to make the youth the centre of all activities and programmes in the Church in order to effectively nurture and mentor them to take over the mantle in the near future.
He therefore called on the church leadership at all levels to ensure that they include the youth in leadership and decision-making and also modernise their activities and programmes to attract and retain the youth in the Church.
Apostle Kumi-Larbi was addressing members of the Women’s Ministry from the Twifo Anogyan District in the Assin Foso Area when they paid a courtesy call on him at his office in Accra on Thursday as part of their visit to the Headquarters of the Church and other monumental places in the capital.
The women numbering 44, were led by their District Minister, Pastor Dennis James Osei-Asibey, and his wife, Nana Yaa Osei-Asibey, as well as the District Women’s Ministry Leader, Deaconess Comfort Aidoo.
They earlier toured the West Hills Shopping Mall, the Airforce Base at Burma Camp and later went to the Pentecost Convention Centre at Gomoa-Fetteh.
Also addressing the women at her office, the Director of the Women’s Ministry, Mrs. Grace Lucy Yeboah-Asuama, charged leadership of the Ministry at the grassroots to embark on regular evangelism and outreaches to draw more souls for Christ.
She noted that Women’s National Week celebration should not be confined to only indoor activities, but should be used for massive evangelism outreaches. She advised that when souls are won, it behoves the leadership to impress on their district pastors to baptize them and further work on them to receive the Holy Spirit baptism in order to deeply ground them in the Lord.
According to the Women’s Director, those who draw souls for the Lord will be honoured by God with a glorious crown in Heaven.
She further entreated members of the ministry to support their leadership at the local levels to succeed by keenly involving themselves in all activities and programmes of the Ministry.
At the Chairman’s Office, the Personal Assistant to the Chairman, Apostle Samuel Otu Appiah, commended the visitors for their commitment towards the Church’s activities. He explained the work schedule of the Chairman to them and called for their prayer support to help the Chairman discharge his numerous responsibilities.
They ended their visit at the studios of Pent TV.
Today, I join the world in paying special tribute to all women, especially my wife, Grace Opoku Onyinah. read more
