The immediate-past Suhum Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Mike Etrue, and his wife, Ernestina have donated GH¢11,000 to support the Suhum Area Pentecost Educational Scholarship Scheme (PESS-SA).
Apostle Mike Etrue and wife made the donation during their farewell service held on August 27, 2017, at the Suhum Central church auditorium. The money was received by the Area Deacon, Elder Samuel Danso.
Apostle Mike Etrue and family have been transferred to head the Kaneshie Area in Accra.
The Pentecost Educational Scholarship Scheme in Suhum Area was launched by Apostle Etrue on February 3, 2017, during a mega prayer festival held in the Area.
Prior to the inauguration, the Area had been instrumental in offering financial support to brilliant but needy students from basic to tertiary levels in their academic pursuits.
In an interview with PENTECOST NEWS, Apostle Etrue asserted that poverty should not be a barrier to acquiring education and skills development for sustainable livelihood.
He holds the philosophy that the acquisition of appropriate knowledge and skills based on Christian principles is the surest way of unearthing God-given talents for responsible and productive adulthoods.
“The Church of Pentecost believes in holistic development of people. The right balance between the development of the spirit and the body is what the church seeks to achieve,” he stressed.
In appreciation, the Area Secretary on behalf of the Area Executive Committee thanked Apostle Mike Etrue and family for the kind gesture. He was hopeful that the money will be effectively utilized.
