n line with his vision to bring Christ to the people
wherever they are, Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah,
Chairman of the Church, spent a few hours
interacting with the market women of the two major
markets in Accra, Makola and Kaneshie, on Thursday,
October 29, 2008.
Accompanied by the General Secretary, Apostle Alfred
Koduah, Area Heads in the Greater Region and their
wives, some movement directors and their wives and
some staff members of the Headquarters, Apostle Dr.
Opoku Onyinah called first at the Makola market
where he was met on arrival by the management of the
market headed by Mr. Asanka.

After the usual pleasantries and introductions, the
entourage swung into full gear by holding a brief
church service at the forecourt of the market. In an
exhortation, Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah encouraged
the market women not to relent in their efforts to
serve society, adding that “they were doing a very
useful job in the retail business.” He then prayed
for the market women.
The entourage went round the stalls to shake hands
with the market women and wished them God’s
blessing, good health and prosperity. |

At the Kaneshie market, the entourage was received
by Mr. Kra Gyamera, managing director of the
Kaneshie market, and his staff in their conference
hall. In his welcome address, Mr. Gyamera remarked
that the Chairman’s visit was the first by the head
of a religious organisation ever since the market
was built.

Headquarters staff were there to give their
spiritual and moral support.

A section of the entourage led by the Chairman met
with the market queens who were holding their
monthly meeting within the premises. From there,
they went to the studio of the local radio facility
where the Chairman, the General Secretary, Mrs Grace
Opoku Onyinah and Women’s Director took turns to
speak to their listeners.
On leaving the studio, Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah and
his entourage walked through the markets and wished
the market women and their families well.
