The Directorate of the Pentecost Men’s Ministry (PEMEM) of The Church of Pentecost (COP) has organised a two-day seminar for COP Head Office Drivers in the Greater-Accra Region.

The event, which took place from July 4 to 5, 2018 at the Church’s Head Office at La in Accra, recorded an attendance of 41 participants. The Deputy Director of the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC), Mr Daniel Wuako, was the main facilitator for the seminar.

The event was also graced by the General Secretary, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, the Achimota Area Head and Executive Council Member, Apostle Joseph Assabil and the Human Resource Manager at the COP Head Office, Elder Nicholas Sarpong-Kumankoma, among others.

According to the PEMEM Director, Apostle Emmanuel Ofei Ankra Badu, the seminar was organised to appreciate the services that drivers are rendering to the Church and to help them add more value to their work.

He said the event was also an opportunity for the ministry to drum home the fact that as drivers, they are the carriers of God’s treasures across the nations.

Some of the topics treated at the seminar were: “Living beyond Rules and Regulations”, “The Value of Inter-personal Relationship”, “The Relationship between the Road, the Vehicle and the Driver”, “The Ethics of the Professional Driver” and “The Importance of Sleep and Rest to the Driver.

Since good eyesight is critical to daily living, and for drivers, in particular, all participants underwent a free eye-screening exercise carried out by some health officials from the Pentecost Hospital as part of the event.

Participants of the event have commended the PEMEM Directorate for such a timely programme and also suggested that more of such capacity-building programmes should be organise for drivers within and outside the Greater-Accra Region.
