The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, has called on all persons to place their trust in Jesus Christ alone since He is the only one who has been given accreditation to save humankind.
Speaking on the second day [Thursday, June 22] at the National Youth Crusade which took place at Somanya on the theme, “Jesus Christ, the Only Accredited Saviour for Mankind” with scripture references from John 8:31-36; 14:6-7 and Acts 2:22–24, 36, among others, the General Secretary explained that it is only Jesus Christ that has been given the power to forgive sins and grant eternal life to all who would accept Him as Lord and saviour of their life.
He said believing in Jesus Christ brings peace and breakthrough from the bondage of sin, adding that Jesus is the only one who brings total liberation from sickness, curses, demonic attack, affliction, among others.
The General Secretary emphasized that it is only Jesus that has been anointed to bring salvation to humanity, grant freedom to prisoners, bring hope to the broken-hearted, and to set the captives free.
“God has approved only Jesus Christ to save and that He is the only way to the Father. [In essence], Jesus is not one of the ways to salvation but the only way,” he asserted.
He further said that anyone who wants to be free from Satan’s control must first know and acknowledge the truth which is Jesus Christ. The second truth is that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and that the gift of God that brings eternal life is Christ Jesus.
According to him, many people are wandering and seeking spiritual help from wrong places, because they do not know the truth that anyone who meets and encounters Jesus has freedom. He, therefore, reiterated that Jesus alone has the mandate to bring freedom and peace to all who believe in Him.
Touching on sin, Apostle Kumi-Larbi said the result of sin is death, disgrace, curses, diseases, losing God’s glory, among others, but only Jesus has the power to set sinners free from their predicaments. He, therefore, admonished all to stay away from sin.
He also advised them to avoid idol worship since it is against the will of God, explaining that Jesus is the only accredited mediator to restore mankind’s broken relationship with God due to sin.
Making reference to 1 John 5:11-12, he said that anyone who has the Son (Jesus Christ) has life and had crossed over from death to eternal life. He admonished all to bring their burdens, troubles, affliction, sickness, and problems to Jesus because He alone can set them free.
“He who meets Jesus, needs no deliverance, for if the Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed,” he stressed while referring to John 8:36
After the sermon, ten persons surrendered their lives to the Lord. An intensive prayer session led by the Youth Director, Apostle David Nyansah Hayfron, which followed the altar call, brought great revival among the gathering, as many were healed of their infirmities.
Other ministers who graced the occasion included Pastor Ben Noye (Eastern Regional Travelling Secretary), Pastor James Oko Barnor (National WIN Team Coordinator), Wife of the General Secretary, Mrs Rose Kumi-Larbi, and other ministers in the Agormanya Area.
