General Secretary Interacts With Women Of Darkuman District

Date: April 7, 2017

The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost (COP), Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, on Friday, April 7, 2017, took time off his busy schedule to engage women from the Darkuman District of Kaneshie Area.

The women, numbering 40 in all, had come for a familiarization tour of the COP Headquarters at La, in Accra to acquaint themselves with the operations of the three principal leaders of the Church – the Chairman, General Secretary and the International Missions Director.

In response to a question during the interactions, Apostle Kumi-Larbi stated that the local assembly plays a fundamental role in church’s process of calling people into the work of the ministry.

He explained that it is the Presiding Elder who first recommends an individual to the District Pastor for consideration, after which they are made to undergo the interview process at the district, area and national levels.

He noted that throughout the various levels, proposed ministers are presented to members so that anyone who has genuine cause as to why a candidate should not be considered for the ministry can do so.

Apostle Kumi-Larbi therefore advised members not to hesitate to voice out any misgivings about a proposed minister or withhold any damning information about an individual being considered for the ministry from church leaders so as to help ensure that the right people are called into the fold.

He also urged the women to keep praying for divine strength and wisdom for the leadership of the church to enable them fulfill their God given mandate.

The women also had the opportunity to visit the office of the Chairman, Apostle Prof Opoku Onyinah, where they were received by the Personal Assistant to the Chairman, Apostle Samuel Otu  Appiah.

At the Missions Office, the women were briefed about the operations of the directorate by Pastor Anthony Sekyere Owusu Kwarteng (Personal Assistant to the IMD) and Mrs. Victoria Kumi Woode (Administrative Secretary).

The women, who were led by Deaconess Vida Ghannay (Assistant District Women’s Ministry Leader), ended their visit with a tour of the Pent TV studios.
