The Axim Area of The Church of Pentecost has held its End-of-Year Presbytery Meeting to assess the performance of the area in 2017.
The event, which was chaired by the Area Head, Apostle Nicholas Y. Siaw, took place on February 3, 2018, at the Axim Central church auditorium.
Addressing participants at the event, Apostle Siaw thanked God for his guidance and protection for the previous. He also commended the presbyters for their wonderful service during the period under review.
Delivering a sermon at the event based on 1 John 2:24-27, the Elubo District Minister, Pastor Charles Incoom, advised Christians to focus on Jesus Christ alone in order not to be swayed by false doctrines. He lamented how some false prophets take advantage of unsuspecting Christians to amass wealth for themselves.
“We must major on the Word for it is the foundation on which we build our Christian lifestyle," he said.
He also encouraged Christians to put the word of God into practice at all times regardless of the circumstances.
Citing many biblical examples, Pastor Incoom labelled Christians who do not believe in the word of God as "the doubting Thomases" in reference to Thomas in the Bible, who walked with Christ for so many years but still doubted that He had indeed resurrected from the dead.
Pastor Incoom concluded by stating that the three important things that Christians should focus on are: Christ, the Word of God and Eternal life.
As part of the programme, Apostle Nicholas Y. Siaw laid the foundation Stone for the ongoing Axim Area Office Complex building project to the glory of God.
