Mrs. Janet Baiden Goes Home

Date: December 7, 2017

The mortal remains of the late Mrs. Janet Baiden, wife of Pastor John Enoch Baiden of Begoro District in Koforidua Effiduase Area of The Church of Pentecost, was laid to rest on Saturday, November 25, 2017 after a funeral service held at the Begoro Salvation Army Park.

The late Mrs. Janet Baiden, whose sudden demise occurred at the Begoro Government Hospital on Monday, October 13, 2017, was born on July 18, 1972 at Boabin, near Dunkwa-On-Offin in the Central Region. She started formal education in 1979 and completed in 1989 at Buabin D/C Middle School, after which she took short courses in bakery and dressmaking for livelihood. She was awarded a certificate in Christian Ministry after completing the Preliminary, Intermediate and the Advanced level courses for ministers’ wives at the Pentecost Theological Seminary.

The Sunyani Area Head, Apostle Mark Obeng Andoh, who officiated the service consoled the bereaved family and encouraged them to be steadfast in the Lord.

In a sermon on the topic, “Death Is Placed in The Memory of the Living,” based on Ecclesiastes 9:5 and 2 Corinthians 1:9, Pastor Emmanuel Oppong-Kyeremah of the New Tafo District in the Koforidua Effiduase Area, explained that every living being is conscious of the fact that death exists. He said death always announces its presence in all forms of happenings, saying, “Death is no respecter of persons.”

Pastor Oppong-Kyeremah admonished Christians not to depend on their strength, but on God who alone is capable of raising the dead. He also called on the gathering not to only be conscious of death but most importantly, the judgment that comes afterwards.

In a tribute, the General Council of The Church of Pentecost described Mrs. Baiden as a Pastor’s wife who was so much dedicated to God’s work. “Her rich insight into Scriptures was highly remarkable,” it stated.

Some of the ministers present at the memorial service were: Apostles A. L. Angoh, L.O. Nyarko, Peter K. Dzemekey, Derek Kwaning Mireku, Moses Ayitey, Samuel Lord Agyin (Retd), Prophets Kankam, Robert Dentu, among others. It was also attended by ministers from other sister churches.
