It was a happy day for the youth of Sekyere Krobo District in the Secondi Area of The Church of Pentecost during their familiarisation visit to the Head Office of the Church at La in Accra, on Friday, September 8, 2017.
Led by the District Youth Leader, Lawrence Quansah, the elated youth also visited Pent TV and the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) at Gomoa Fetteh.
Addressing them at the Office of the Chairman, the Personal Assistant to the Chairman, Apostle Samuel Otu Appiah, took them through the roles of the Chairman which includes overseeing the spiritual growth of the members and coming out with annual themes to chart a new course for the church.
Apostle Otu Appiah through the interaction noted that the founder of the Church, Pastor James McKeown, ensured that the Church becomes a self-sufficient one without relying on any foreign support. He explained that God through this directive has blessed individual members of the church through giving.
Interacting with the youth at the Office of the General Secretary, an Administrative Secretary to the General Secretary, Pastor Abraham Kofi Addae Agyemang, charged the youth to aspire to be like Christ in conduct and in character.
According to him, a lot of people in this generation profess to be Christians but are not. He bemoaned that many young people stay awake as they watch television programmes but they go to church only to sleep there. This, he said, is a sign of disconnection with their Maker.
Pastor Agyemang charged the youth to be honest, faithful and hardworking and also turn away from all vices in order to live a fulfilled life and also make it to heaven.
