FOR READING: Hebrews 4: 8-13
MEMORY VERSE: Hebrews 4: 13
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. (NIV)
Bible states that there will be a Sabbath-rest for God’s people. God rested from His work. The rest is at the end of our earthly journey at the RAPTURE, when all the redeemed shall enter into God’s eternal rest.
Unfortunately, as the end time is rather drawing closer than before, many believers are becoming careless about their Christian life. We are becoming very fascinated about the things of the world and the so-called pleasures that accompany them. We are so busy that we have no time for effective Bible studies, and meditation, with prayers and evangelism.
There seems now to be no difference between the Christian and the people of other religions who must know that Jesus is the only WAY to God.
Scripture is admonishing us to make every effort to enter that rest so that no one will fall by following Israel’s example of their disobedience and did not enter Canaan, the Promised Land.
We can only withstand the devices of Satanic wickedness when we read the scriptures as a command. For the Word of God is living and active. It can penetrate the inner man to put us on the path of righteousness. Nothing we do is hidden from the eyes of the all-seeing God. Our thoughts and attitudes are judged. The eyes of the Living God see all that we think and do.
Let us beware.
Do I take God’s “silence” about my ungodly behavior as His weakness?
Lord Jesus, grant me the grace to always be aware that nothing is ever hidden from you, to enable me flee ungodliness. Amen.
Those who are true to God will also be true to others.
