For Reading: Galatians 3:1-4, 2 Peter 3:14-18
MEMORY VERSE: ‘But grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ…’ 2 Peter 3:18a KJV.
There is a great difference between physical growth and spiritual growth. Physical growth is linear, moving from conception to birth, infancy, adolescence, adulthood, senescence and death. Spiritual growth is however reversible; that is, we can move up and down as time passes. You can actually be less matured today than you were two years ago. Paul addresses the Galatians in this respect: They were more spiritual before than then.
The rate of growth or backsliding in the Christian race follows a geometric progression whose index is determined by our level of indulgence either in pious acts or in sin
My dear friend, you must consolidate your spiritual progress by consciously deciding to keep moving forward. If you backslide, you are losing ‘growth’. Continue to grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our LORD and savior Jesus Christ. That is positive growth.- DNH
FOR MEDITATION: Am I moving forward in the right direction?
PRAYER: Take my hand O Lord through this earthly pilgrimage.
THOUGHT: Moving is not enough, but moving in the right direction
