The Church of Pentecost donated two new ambulances to the Police Hospital and
the Alpha Medical Centre (AMC) at a short ceremony at the Church’s Headquarters
at La in Accra on Thursday, January 28, 2010.
The GH¢100.000 ambulances, were presented by Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah, Chairman
of the Church, to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP), Mr. George Anko-Bil, the
Director-General of Services of the Police Service, and Professor K. B.
Omane-Antwi, Board Chairman of the AMC.
Presenting the vehicles, Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah said the two hospitals were
offering invaluable services to society and needed to be equipped with the
necessary tools to encourage them to deliver.

He said doctors, nurses and para-medical staff were playing a very important
role in the health delivery industry and could do better if they had adequate
equipment to work with, adding that “by these donations the Church wishes to
encourage them not to give up, but to continue to offer useful service to
society.”
Receiving the ambulance for the Police Hospital, DCOP Mr. George Anko-Bil said
“the donation was a demonstration of love by the Church,” which was worthy of
emulation.
The Director-General said 50% of patients at the Police Hospital were civilians
and that the gift of an ambulance would enhance their service delivery and
further deepen police-civilian relationship.
On behalf of the AMC, Professor Omane-Antwi considered the donation as exemplary
and promised that the ambulance would be put to good use.
