ceremony
The University of Education (UEW), Winneba, branch of the Pentecost Students and
Associates (PENSA), has laid the foundation stone for its 1,000-capacity
auditorium which would serve as a place of worship for members of the group and
the university community.
Speaking at the ceremony at Winneba on Sunday, November 29, 2009 on the theme,
‘Not by might,’ Apostle Alfred Koduah, General Secretary of the Church, urged
members of the group to continue to rely on God who is able to provide the
resources for the early completion of the project.
The General Secretary told the group not to see the project as a ‘mountain’
which was insurmountable but hope in God to assist them for the good cause to
provide a place of worship for the group and community.
So far, the group has spent over GH¢140,000 out of the estimated cost of GH¢260,000
on the project. Individuals such as Elders Samuel Amo Tobin and Matthias K. Ntow
and some organisations like The Church of Pentecost and PENSA UEW have
contributed various sums to the project.
In attendance to help the General Secretary lay the foundation stone were
Apostle D. Y. Asare, Swedru Area Head, Pastor E. K. Acquah, Youth Director;
Pastor Nii Lamptey of the Winneba District, Pastor Samuel Otoo Appiah, ITI PENSA
Travelling Secretary for the Central Region; Elders Omesu Tetteh, and Frank
Asiedu Danso, President and Project and Development Officer, respectively, of
PENSA UEW.
