Christ, God’s Indispensable and Unspeakable Gift’

The love of God revealed in His Son, His indispensable and unspeakable gift at Christmas has brought honour to the deprived and neglected as well as various promises to those who take solace in the name, Emmanuel.

Making this observation on the last of a four-day Christmas convention here on Sunday, December 27, 2009, Apostle F. E. Antwi, Takoradi Area Head, noted that some really know God, but not the power in His name.

To those who know Him and His power, however, Apostle Antwi said God makes their hearts and lives His abode where He lives in His holiness.

On the other hand, he observed that those who do not know Him see in the remembrance of His birth an occasion to indulge in all forms of revelry and engage themselves in immorality.

Noting that every name has its peculiar significance, the one-time Executive Council member said that Naphtali and Zebulun, Jewish towns (Is. 9:1) that had no respect among the nations in their time were catapulted to the limelight with the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Assigning meaning to the titles of Christ, he said Wonderful represents the amazing, awesome and wise God who instils life and vigour into a dull life.

Apostle Antwi said Counsellor represents the God who directs His people in life’s decisions, while Mighty God symbolises the God who takes care of life’s demands from His abundance.

He further described Everlasting Father as the One constantly moving His church to newer dimensions.

Finally, he stated that the Prince of Peace takes care of the disturbances, giving His people peace in every life situation.

He concluded that Ghana would have to hand over its affairs to Christ, if it expects to reach out to new dimensions in life, adding that Ghana “is a blessed nation.”
