The President
of the Ghana Pentecostal Council (GPC), Apostle John Adotey, has commended
Apostle Ekow Badu Wood, outgoing General Secretary of the Council, for “his good
works during his ten years as General Secretary.”
Expressing the
sentiments in a fraternal message of the Council to the 17th
Extraordinary Council meetings of The Church of Pentecost in held April this
year, and read on his behalf by Rt. Rev. S. N. Mensah, Executive Council member
of the GPC, Apostle Adotey described Apostle Wood as an affable leader through
whose efficient leadership the Council recorded massive progress.
He noted that
the General Secretary’s enormous contributions to the enhancement of the
Council’s objectives would be remembered for a very long time.
Adding that
Apostle Wood “has indeed helped drive the Council forward and we will miss
working with him dearly,” the GPC President expressed the Council’s gratitude to
The Church of Pentecost for what he described as The Church’s “unparalleled
financial commitment towards the progress of the Council.”
Apostle Wood’s
tenure as General Secretary of the GPC ends in September this year after which
he proceeds to Burkina Faso to assume responsibility as the National Head of The
Church in that nation.
A senior
member of the GPC who pleaded anonymity, thanked God for new direction given the
Council by its former President, Apostle Dr. M. K. Ntumy, who now Head The
Church in Germany.
He also thanked
the COP for its exceptional but regular financial contributions which, he noted,
helped the Pentecostal body achieve many of its set goals under the former
President’s tenure.
He prayed that
the same Lord who led Apostle Dr. Ntumy would give his successor wisdom to move
the Coul to higher grounds.
