Chiraa Town Stops for Christ

From Elder Sampson Boahen

A four-day mega-crusade organised by the Chiraa District in the Sunyani Area brought hundreds into the open for hours, some accompanied by their sick children and the aged, just to hear the gospel preached and their spiritual problems solved.

The crusade, which was held on Asabia Street from August 5 to 8, 2004, under the theme, ‘Let God arise and His enemies be scattered,’ saw 54 souls coming to the Lord for salvation, 44 of whom experienced water baptism. Others were also healed of their ailments.

In a fashion reminiscent of the early days of the Church when the apostles virtually “turned the world upside down,” the speakers drowned Chiraa in testimonies and messages about the power and blessings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Truly, a society stands still where Christ manifests His presence and power.

Present at the programme, among others, were the Area Head, Apostle J. A. Mensah, and the Chiraa District Executive Committee members.

Speakers included Pastors E. Y. Agyei, New Dormaa; Daniel Dekpor, Meredane; J. B. Arko, Akrankwanta; Michael Zinnah, Northern Outreach Mission (NOM); and Brobbey Acheampong, host.
