The
2009 Women's Week Programme for Kasoa Area featured the Women's Movement
Director, Mrs. Beatrice Evelyn Kwaffo, who, assisted by the Area Head, Apostle
E.C. Asante and his pastors inaugurated the executive members of the
Professional Ladies, Businesswomen, and Widows and Single Mothers Associations
within the Women's Movement.
In
the company of the Director were Dr. Kate Love Vanderpuije from the USA and Mrs.
Selina Gyimah Sekyere from the Headquarters of the Church and National
Co-ordinator of the Professional Ladies.
Mrs.
Kwaffo, appreciative of the good work being done by the Area Head, Apostle and
Mrs E. C. Asante, the pastorate and their wives, commended the Women's Executive
led by Mrs. Akua Asemanyi Tawiah for the massive turn out of the ladies, their
outlook, love and commitment to the Lord's work.
Speaking on the dangers of abortion, Dr. Vanderpuije said the act of sex and the
formation of an embryo inside the woman's womb is a mystery which no one should
toy with. She warned that even if one terminates a day or week-old pregnancy
willingly, it is a criminal offence which will be judged and punished before the
judgment throne of God.
Dr.
Vanderpuije reiterated that unless it was medically proved that the mother's
life was in danger, any form of abortion was illegal.
