The Chairman of The Church of
Pentecost, Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah, has bemoaned society’s apathetic attitude
towards people with disability in the country.
He regrets that a society like
Ghana’s that claims closeness to God cannot translate that relationship into
care for the disabled and less-privileged and ensuring that they live in
moderate comfort to give them a sense of belonging.
Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah
expressed these concerns during a special interactive session with the
leadership and members of the Deaf and Dumb Ministry of The Church of Pentecost
at the Kaneshie Area Office of the Church at Odorkor Official Town on Tuesday,
November 8, 2009, as part of his outreach programme to sectors of the Church.

To give practical meaning to his
sentiments, the Chairman announced a GH¢ 100.00 to each to the each of the 115
members of the ministry as their Christmas package.
He also promised to provide three
motorbikes for use by the ministry to reduce the mobility challenges.
In a year in which the Executive
Council of the Church has focused mainly on bringing God closer to the people
and making them experience intimately His relevance in their lives, Apostle
Opoku Onyinah said his interaction with the handicapped should assure them that
both the Executive and General Councils of the Church had them at heart.
In a short, but very moving and
soul-touching message, Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah charged Christians in
particular and society in general to unreservedly demonstrate God’s love to the
disabled.
